Wonderful Daddy

Lately, Owen has been saying that he doesn't love his Daddy. He explains like this: "I just don't have enough room in my heart. I have God, Jesus, and Mommy in there." He'll tell Aaron, "Tell my Mommy that I love her." He even starts to say I love you, but it goes like this: "I love yo---Mommy." I know he doesn't mean it. I know boys go through phases like this and I must say, it's good for my self esteem, but what he doesn't know is how blessed he is to have Aaron as his Daddy. He is an amazing man. He is strong and gentle. He is dedicated and present. I never fear for my family. He makes our home safe. He makes me strong.
So, Owen I know you say you don't love your Daddy now, but one day you will see that you are who you are because you had a Father who always said he loved you. You had a father who was firm, yet gentle. You had a Father who followed his Heavenly Father with his whole heart and taught you to never lose your childlike faith.

Fun in the Sun with a Side of Brotherly Love

The boys have loved being outside all day, every day. Eli is still trying to figure out the whole uneven surface of the backyard, but is willing to explore. Mainly because his big brother is 100% boy and really taking advantage of the bugs, dirt and danger of his "fort." I love to watch Owen's imagination at work. It really is amazing. I can't wait to watch the boys imagine together. That time will be here before I know it. I pray for their friendship as brothers. I know they will fight and most likely cause a few bruises, but I hope as they grow up, they will see the value of a brother and love each other with all that they are.

He's Walking

My little man finally decided to truly walk on his own for my brother's wedding. He really took off Thursday night at the rehearsal. It was like he knew he had a job to do on Saturday. The plan was to carry Eli down and hold Owen's hand. Owen was fine going down on his own so I put Eli down to walk the aisle, but he was so impressed with the flowers and people I had to carry him so that we could get "the show on the road." Both boys were so handsome. Truly stylish in their little tuxes.

We had so much fun this weekend. We laughed, cried, DANCED (Owen pulled out some sweet break dance moves we hadn't seen since 1988. We are not sure where he learned those) and cherished so many memories. It was so good to be with family and friends. Life is good and love makes it perfect!
