It's been a while...
Life keeps moving faster than I can keep up with. I have so many pictures just sitting in this computer, waiting to be edited and placed on this blog and in photo books. I also have this thing called "life" to attend to, so those photos will have to wait. I would like to share a few fun pictures from our recent adventure down the lane of LOVE.
My cousin Matt called last Thursday, telling me that he was going to purpose to his long time girlfriend, Joy on Friday (nothing like last minute planning). He asked if I would take pictures of the special moment. Wow. I was shocked. No one has ever asked me to take pictures, let alone, of such a special moment. I said yes right away and started my attempt at finding child care. In the end, the boys came with me. We stashed them up in Joy's roommate's room with a movie and some candy (It think that's what a good mommy would do.) Owen loved that Matt had asked him to help take the petals off of the dozen roses he had bought. Owen kept telling me that Matt and Joy were getting married today.
Then, the big moment came. Joy walked into her apartment, found rose petals, roses, candles and Matt. He read something special that they shared and got down on his knee. Needless to say, it was a fun day for a mommy who is a sucker for romance. I reminded the boys that they should be taking notes for future reference....very future reference!
The whole day got me thinking about my engagement. It was a very private moment. Just the two of us, on the beach, while the sun set. Two kids, completely in love, so much so that we literally ached without the other. And you know what, that hasn't changed. Sure, we now have two precious boys that consume much of our time, a mortgage, jobs, etc., but we still have each other...and the ache to be near is even stronger today than it was almost 9 years ago.
I guess that's my sappy Valentines Day sentiment and here are a few pictures from our fun engagement day, or as Owen would say, "Marriage Day."
